Creating a visual identity for your brand or getting a logo designed shouldn't be a stressful experience. I love working on brand identities and have years of experience creating visual tool kits to ensure your brand conveys a strong and consistent message. I create original logos that stand out and set your business apart from others. I don't use templates and all designs are created by me, from scratch, just for you. My style of working is approachable and relaxed and I'll send you lots of updates along the way to keep you involved in every step. To find out more about the process of designing a logo, and the other branding packages I offer, take a look at the Branding section on my website.
In a moment of madness at the end of April 2016 I decided to take part in the Instagram project #the100dayproject. For the 100 day project the challenge is to make, create and stick at something for 100 days. I chose to do #100daysoftheruddynineties and mentally and emotionally signed up to it before I had thought it through and realised just what it would be like to produce a drawing or painting every day for 100 days. Ha! I'm not going to lie, there were times I got in at 1am and really didn't want to draw a bloody Furby but I stuck with it. People really got on board, as let's face it the nineties bloody rocked. I sold every piece I painted at a show in the little village that I live in and 100% of the money I raised, which ended up being £1300, went to Freedom from Fistula - a charity working in Africa helping girls and women injured in childbirth. Much to my family and close friends' despair I decided to do 100 more days of the '90s again. I began in April and will finish on July 15th. This time the money raised will go to a Lyme disease research charity.
Many of my '90s artworks, in the form of pins, prints and card are available to buy on my other website www.paperpipedreams.com and you can see all the work on Instagram under the # 100daysoftheruddynineties
I absolutely love drawing and painting portraits and do lots every year. Some people ask for one off bespoke paintings and drawings of themselves, their children or families, whereas other people want a portrait to use as part of their business's branding or in a logo.
I work in a number of different mediums when it comes to doing portraits. One off portraits tend to be done in pencil, watercolour or gouache, while portraits for web or business use tend to be drawn by hand first then finished off digitally.
I love pins and have designed lots of them for different people and companies, as well as for myself under my own Paper Pipe Dreams brand. The process starts with me chatting to you on the phone or via email about the sort of thing you are after. I then send over between 2-3 proposed design ideas for you to choose from and from those the pin artwork is created. I have worked with pin manufacturers and am experienced in supplying artwork to them and am happy to oversee proofs and help with the manufacturing process.
I am experienced in creating patterns and designs specifically for use in the fashion and textile industries. When it comes to creating textile designs I normally work with Kate, a senior textile designer with over 12 years experience designing for many major retailers and brands. Together we enjoy creating interesting and fresh designs based on your brief and can supply files in a number of formats so that they can be sent direct to your manufacturer.
I love illustrating books. My most recent large scale book illustration project was illustrating a book created for children who have lost a parent, follow the death of its author's (Caroline Twigg) husband Iain from a brain tumour aged just 33. It was a very emotional and difficult book to illustrate as it meant so much to Caroline and I but we couldn't have been happier with the end result.
If you would like me to create illustrations for your book please get in touch. I am experienced in all stages of the process from creating the artwork, scanning it and laying out pages and type through to selecting prints, proofing and supplying files for print.
